I am a Staff Psychologist and the Training Director here at UCC. I am working on the final steps to licensure as a psychologist in the State of North Dakota.
Though I like working with all adult age groups and a full range of issues, I have particular interests in interpersonal relationship issues, assertive communication, self-exploration, self-harm preventions, and coping with chronic and serious mental illness. I have received specialized training in emotion regulation and anxiety management. Through my academic and clinical training and clinical training and experience I have gained competencies in psychological assessment (cognitive and personality testing with objective and projective measures) and therapeutic skills in interpersonal, cognitive-behavioral (with a focus on emotion), and experiential approaches.
I successfully completed a yearlong Pre-doctoral Internship in Clinical Psychology at Burrell Behavioral Health/Cox Health Systems Family Practice Residency in Springfield, MO. I also earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, M.A. in Counseling and my B.A. in Psychology here at UND.
Personally, I share my life with my husband and a large family including our youngest “child”, an 18 lb. Mini dachshund named Doug. I love listening to music of all kinds, especially the funky-weird experimental, world fusion, trance and ambiance kind. I can also spend hours soaking in coffeehouse blues and jazz and my favorite cappuccino, reading the latest Nora Roberts novel. I love photography, tree, HGTV, and Starbucks. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
