Pejcharat Harvey, Ph.D.,
Psychology Resident
'

Hi! My name is Pejcharat Harvey and I am a staff psychologist at the UCC. I am a recent transplant to North Dakota. I recently received my doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton. (It's near Dallas). I spent the last year at the University of Delaware, where I completed my pre-doctoral internship. I received my undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.

My areas of interests in counseling are (but not limited to): multiculturalism (especially racial identity), depression, eating disorders and interpersonal relationship issues. I tend to work with my clients from a constructivist perspective believing that together we affect each other and that by working together we can create change in both the individual and in his/her environment.

On a personal note, I enjoy reading, watching television and going to the movies. I love music and enjoy listening to new bands. My taste in music is very eclectic ranging from pop to polka. Denton is the home of "Brave Combo," a Grammy-nominated polka band as well as a world-renowned music school for jazz. I love to travel. I lived in Germany for several years and have visited most of Europe and Thailand. I look forward to meeting you and hope that we can enjoy a journey together.

Dr. Harvey has been awarded the Coretta Scott King Award for her continued support of the ALANA students and Era Bell Thompson Multicultural Center on the campus of the University of North Dakota. It is individuals like her that make our students better citizens and create excellent learning in a ever changing global society.
